This assessment identifies how the learner:

Processes visual information
Reads for meaning
Manages reading speed, memory, and cognitive load

The PlaceMe Assessment allows us to:

Identify strengths and challenges
Determine whether intervention or cognitive training is needed
Recommend the most effective programme pathway

Reading Pals – Targeted Reading Intervention

Personalised support for struggling readers

Reading Pals is a one-on-one reading intervention programme designed for learners who experience difficulties with reading fluency, comprehension, or confidence.

Intervention may include:

Foundational phonics support and syllabification
Guided oral reading to strengthen fluency and accuracy
Purposeful reading practice focused on understanding meaning

Reading aloud is used strategically to support neural integration, memory development, and comprehension. As visual efficiency improves, learners transition toward stronger silent reading skills.

Reading Pals works before, alongside, or after the PlaceMe Assessment, depending on learner needs.

EyeBrainGym Reading Academy

Strengthening visual intelligence for lifelong learning

The EyeBrainGym Reading Academy is a science-based cognitive training programme that strengthens the brain’s visual processing system.

The programme helps learners:

Read faster with improved comprehension
Strengthen working memory and attention
Reduce reading fatigue and anxiety
Improve academic performance through efficient silent reading

Training includes:

Visual and memory exercises
Reading and comprehension tasks
Vocabulary and meaning-making activities
Progress tracking and cognitive development

Training begins with memory and visual activities, recognising that it takes approximately 26 repetitions for the brain to unlearn inefficient habits and build stronger neural pathways.

Suitable for learners from Stage 2 through adulthood, as programmes are based on cognitive stage rather than school grade.
